Weekly Newsletter for the Week of October 3, 2016

Happy Monday and Happy Autumn!
It's October and we have quite a week ahead!  First thing is it is a short week with Friday 10-7 There is NO SCHOOL for students but we do have our Annual Haunted House and Fair in the evening, (see previous posts for time and details of event, a flyer has been sent home in your child's backpack as well)

The students are in a really good groove with our schedule and their services, loving whole group and small group instruction.  Math group has been very successful in getting students to work together, ask and answer questions about content as well as working on social skills.

This week and last week we are working on our Apple themed language arts, math, art and yes we will be making apple sauce this week for science!

This week's cafeteria menu is cycle 1, and can be viewed in the School Menu Cycles tab.

Our Class Animal is the butterfly, and as such we will be creating butterfly costumes in class this month in preparation for our school costume contest as well as a small celebration in class Friday October 28th.  If you can supply juice boxes/Capri Suns, chips or cookies, please contact me in the upcoming weeks.  We have students with peanut allergies, please do not send candy or candies with nuts.  Thank you!

Upcoming in November is a special event held in Claremont called the Pilgrim Festival.  I was hoping to have a field trip but the days of the festival are during our time off from school on Veterans Day Weekend, Friday 11-11 and Saturday 11-12.  Please consider taking your child/children as it is a very fun and family friendly event.  Check out the link here:

It has been a personal family favorite for many years with my own children!

Photos to follow in my next post!

Have a blessed week and hope to see you Friday Evening at the Haunted House!

Thank you!

Donna :)
